RISALITI FAMILY&nbsp;

	TWO GENERATIONS. ONE BELIEF.
TIMELESS PASSION.

	Manifattura Tessile Risaliti (MTR) is based in Prato, which is a historical textile industrial area in Toscana, Italy. MTR is a company where the industry’s past and present meet. Founded by the father, Virgilio Risaliti, who still is cooperating-and has decades of career as a textile technician, the company has been managed by the son Giuseppe, who is also a textile technician as well as an artisan. The philosophy of MTR has been remaining the same since the beginning. High quality fabrics that last forever.

PURE CASHMERE

For our production, we only use cashmere made with the finest range of fibres —from 12-13 mic to a maximum of 15-16 mic— which is originated from inner region of Mongolia and upper region of Tibet.

We put great attention to the details. Throughout all the finishing process, We closely monitor every steps and this allows us to produce fabrics that have incredible texture and perfect results of the manufactured garment.
We are proud of our STRICA finishing fabric that was created and finished with a traditional and artisan manner using a machine called a STRICA, which are using the parts of sun-dried cardo flowers. This machine helps increasing the natural wave tendency of the fibres, creating the “zibellin” effect on the finished fabric.

BABY SURI ALPACA

	MTR was the first company to recognize the brightness and softness of the most precious alpaca fibres, launching them into the market with enormous success.

For many years we have enjoyed an exclusive partnership with the most important Peruvian producers of yarns. This has allowed us to guarantee to our customers fabrics made with the highest raw material quality while offering a product in which they can choose from a wide range of colours, a natural melange and new sophisticated shade combinations which colour the surface of a dense, fine and shiny wool.

MTR ORIGINALS

	OUR INVENTIONS BASED ON PROVEN EXPERIMENTS;

Japanese minimalism meets sportswear looks obtained through the finest wool blended with cashmere and pure cash- mere with unconventional washed finishing or with use of elastic components to accent comfortable stretch wear. Our fabrics are synonymous with world travel.&nbsp;The study of new constructions as well as knitwear and effects combine to obtain contemporary looks. Similar to the New York metropolitan style of new extra felted finishing which recalls the reserved English style but that is soft to the touch.

VICUÑA, The fiber of the gods

Animal with a fawn and white coat, the VICUÑA has a magnificent, exceptionally fine fleece that features unmatched fineness and softness. Intensive hunting in the 1960s due to its fleece was subsequently the subject of a security program in Peru that secured its repopulation. Today the vicunas graze freely in small flocks in their natural territory.In common with andin, alpaca, guanaco and lama species, the vicun belongs to the largest Camelidian family in North America. Of all the camelids, the vicun is by far the best wool. With a diameter of 11 to 14 microns and a length of about 30 millimeters, the fiber of its fleece is thus the precious wool in the world.

	Each vicuña gives 300 grams of wool per harvest: wonderful gossamer wisps of 12 microns in diameter. In addition to its fineness and its length, which gives it a particular sheen, vicuña fibre has a beauty and brilliance that derives from its unmatched brightness.

	Discovering the vicuña involves a visit to the Jujuy province in Northern Argentina’s Salta region, to experience the terrain and the altitude. This incomparable landscape is home to the vicuña. MTR settles in for a rare event, the shearing of this small member of the camelid family whose wool is a gift from the gods. The animal is protected and respected, and every effort is made to treat it with the utmost reverence, prudence and consideration.

THE CHACCU
A lean animal with a white coat has a magnificent fleece, with a fineness and unmatched softness. Because of an intense hunting in the 1960s, just because of its cloak, it is now subject to a program of restocking.

THE PRINCESS OF THE ANDES

With its slender neck and huge dark eyes framed with long eyelashes, the vicuña has a unique grace and charm.

<img width="1900" height="1268" width_o="1900" height_o="1268" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/7eb2bff46f9007e8034cc1d64708bbbc084a22d53af037989ffd5a18c78d887e/vigogne_4.jpg" data-mid="79220585" border="0" data-no-zoom src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/7eb2bff46f9007e8034cc1d64708bbbc084a22d53af037989ffd5a18c78d887e/vigogne_4.jpg" />

	Vicuñas are shorn every two years and are ringed for identification from one year to the next. When shorning, electric clippers are being used. Shearing takes no more than a few minutes to limit the stress to the animal, which is immediately released.

Merino, The noblest of wool sheep

	The southern hemisphere countries of New Zealand and Australia offer exceptional conditions for the Merino. In the face of fierce worldwide competition, some breeders took a gamble on producing wools of unrivalled fineness.

Australia is the world’s leading producer of Merino wool, with the wool produced in Tasmania considered to be one of the country’s very best. Originally from Saxony, the Saxon Merino sheep is the aristocracy of wool sheep, so to speak. It is a high-maintenance animal and only very few breeders work with a flock of purebred Saxons.

Purebred Merino rams need a particular climate and pastures. Until the shearing period, flocks are free to roam and the breeder may face several hours’ walk to herd them.

A NEW ZEALAND MERINO RAM

	THE WORKERS&nbsp;
The selection of the best results in merino wool is definitely a great way to improve the quality level and it must be done by professionist.

	FOCUS ON MERINO FIBRES
The quality of the wool is judged on the basis of the colour – which should be as pale as possible – its elasticity in proportion to the crimp density, and its fineness, as determined by the diameter in microns or micrometres.
